It was not meant to be: Since 11.11., 19 o'clock, local time Brighton, it is certain: The XII. Gay Games will take place in Valencia and unfortunately not in Munich. At the decisive vote of the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) in Brighton, the delegation from Munich was narrowly defeated by the competitors.
We congratulate Valencia/Guadalajara on their success. It was an exciting competition and there could only be one winner. We take this result with sportive fairness.
While it is a shame for all the work our 50-strong team has put into the application for almost years. However, we made it to the final of the last three applicant cities in February, which was already a great success. And we were thrilled to see what our city and its LGBTQ community is made of. That was really great, and we would like to thank you very much for that!
